Just do it! The Berenloop Terschelling.

The Berenloop is a running race, which is held on Sundays on Terschelling every November.
Participants can do a half or full marathon. ( There is now also a small Berenloop for the Kids, on the Saturday ) The run was first held on 26 October 1997 as a partnership between SV Friesland and Stichting Promotie Brandaris. The marathon was originally conceived as a festive conclusion to themed year '400 years of Willem Barentsz'.
WHY BERENLOOP HEETS BERENLOOP
The run takes its name from Willem Barentsz, who wanted to sail north to Asia in 1596. In doing so, he got stuck near Nova Zembla and wintered by hunting polar bears. Hence the name and logo. At the first run, about 400 runners were counted on, but eventually there were 800 participants at the start. Runner's World magazine calls the Terschelling Marathon one of the toughest marathons in the Netherlands.

To roam past the deserted beaches, to walk through its diverse nature or to discover the island by cycling or rambling.
But also experiencing its natural beauty by horseback or a horse and car is idyllic.

The island will amaze you at every turn with its diverse nostalgic villages and restaurants, cafés, galleries, museums, in and outdoor activities, beach pavilions & organic visitor's farms.

And all of this within cycling distance.

Terschelling together with Texel, Vlieland, Ameland and Schiermonnikoog form the Dutch Wadden Islands.
