The De Boschplaat European Nature Reserve is almost a third of the island. No people live on De Boschplaat. However, countless plant and bird species live here. You will be amazed when you enter this nature reserve. Did you know that around 70 different species of birds can be found on this island?

Spend the night in Oosterend
After your Dark Sky adventure, you will want to spend the night in the peaceful surroundings. Oosterend is the easternmost village on Terschelling and also the most authentic village on the Frisian Wadden Island. Oosterend is surrounded by beach dunes, salt marshes, polders and the Wadden Sea dyke. All the characteristic landscape features of the Wadden come together here. Go on an evening excursion in De Boschplaat and then return to the peaceful village of Oosterend.
